Caleb Studstill
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Caleb’s research in the lab is currently focused on understanding how HPV interacts with host cellular processes to promote viral infection and what impact this has on the host innate immune response. Specifically, he is studying the role of host caspases during HPV infection. Overall, Caleb is interested in how viruses subvert the host immune response by modulating normal cellular processes. He started his research career at the University of Georgia, where he completed his B.S. in Biology. Then, Caleb earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he worked on T cell responses to LCMV and innate immune responses to influenza A virus. He is originally from the state of Georgia and has two children. When not working on science, Caleb enjoys outdoor-related activities with his family, gardening, and reading.
