Cary A. Moody
Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology
Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center
Dr. Moody received her PhD in Microbiology from LSU-Health Sciences Center-Shreveport in 2004. She performed her thesis work in the lab of Dr. John Sixbey, where she investigated a role for the latent membrane protein 2A (LMP2A) of Epstein-Barr Virus in tumor progression. She performed her post-doctoral work in the lab of Dr. Lou Laimins at Northwestern University Medical School where she focused on mechanisms that regulate the productive life cycle of HPV. In 2010, she started as an Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel hill in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and is currently an Associate Professor. She is also a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
